When to keep your child home:

- Fever (100°F or higher) within 24 hours
- Diagnosed with a contagious illness by a clinician
- Vomiting within 24 hours
- Diarrhea within 24 hours
- Persistent cough or severe cold-like symptoms
- Runny nose with excessive nasal discharge that may not be clear
- Unexplained skin rashes, lesions, sore throat and/or inflamed, crusty eyes

Absences
If your child will be absent or tardy by more than twenty minutes on a particular day you should:
- send us an email to: SMILES-notes@amesburyma.org, OR
- send us a note saying what day or days your child will be absent or tardy, OR
- phone the school 978-388-3659 on the day before or by 8:40 am on the day of the absence. If you leave a voicemail, please leave your child's name and the name of their homeroom teacher.

If your child will be absent or tardy by more than twenty minutes on a particular day you should:
- send us a note saying what day or days your child will be absent or tardy, OR
- phone the school 978-388-4409 on the day before or by 8:40 am on the day of the absence. An answering machine will take your message when school is not in session. Please leave your child's name and the name of their homeroom teacher.
