Special Education Programming within the Amesbury Public Schools
Program Overview
The Amesbury Public School District is committed to quality special education for all identified special education students from ages 3 through 22 years of age.
The Amesbury Public School District has preschool, kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school programming. Both the Charles Cashman and Amesbury Elementary schools have full access to a wide range of special education academic and related services including: speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling, behavioral supports, and assistive technology. Special educators and general educators work together to provide appropriate educational and social experiences for all children.
Amesbury Middle School and Amesbury High School also provide full access to the general education curriculum as well as providing the same special education and related services as are available at the elementary level.
Specialized programs are available at elementary, middle and high school levels as identified in Individualized Educational Programs based on student need.
